The Yaduvanshi Rajputs, who are claimed to be Lord Krishna’s descendants, constructed it in the 14th century. After converting to Islam in the middle of the 14th century, they were dubbed Khanzadas. The seven-turreted fort has been captured and recaptured by various forces throughout the ages. It was eventually acquired by the Rajputs in 1775, when the princely state of Alwar was established. The Mughals and the Jats had conquered it before then. Under Ranawat Thakur Bhawani Singh (1882–1934), the fort had a golden era.
Wing Cdr. leased the fort to Neemrana Hotels, a heritage company, in 2004. Mangal Singh is the protagonist of the story. After that, Aman Nath and Francis Wacziarg, two of the group’s co-owners and restorers, worked to restore it.
